Under the Sea

This is my entry for the Michelle Perkett Weekend Challenge at PCP titled 'Under the Sea'.

I wanted to make a tri-fold card and try out a few ideas I had running around in my head :) I'm happy with some of the experiments...but not all! Overall, I'm not that happy with this card. It has actually photo'd better than it looks in real life, so I guess that's a bonus lol! And...it took forever to get started because I spent I don't know how long fighting with my computer!!!! Technology is great when it does what you want it to do!

Anyhow...I used aquamarine CS for the base card, cut to 12 x 8 and scored at 4" & 8". I cut the window in the front and the frame for the window with my CM circle cutting system. For the window I embossed some light weight acetate with the spots & dots Cuttlebug folder and cut it to fit the window opening. I Kindy Glitzed some of the circles to look like sparkly bubbles. The frame was cut from CS & JAC paper and coated with AED glitter. The DP is the same Kaiser paper I used on my Soulmates Journal. The caption is a Kaiser rub-on.

I printed Michelle's image Song of the Sea onto Splendorgel 190 and coloured with Copics. The water & sky background is printed on the computer and I have added some Copic colour for depth. The little fish are printed and coloured also. The fish and mermaid tail are coated with dimensional glaze and I've used Kindy Glitz on the fonds of her tail. Her hair has been highlighted with glitter pen and the harp has been coloured with gold glitter pen, with silver glitter pen for the strings.

My idea when making this card was for it to appear that you were looking through a port hole into the ocean, with bubbles floating by. I like the front of the card but I'm not so happy with the inside :( Some experiments just don't go how you want them!!
