Flo with Flowers...and more exciting news :)

I'm VERY excited because I found out this week that I was chosen as one of the Guest Designers for Pollycraft...woo hoo...I am soooo happy! I LOVE Paula's art...it's so nice to colour.  This year they are featuring 2 GDs per month and my month is May :)

This week the challenge at Pollycraft is Black, White & 1 Other Colour.  Boy, did I find this one hard!! I suppose I didn't help my cause by deciding I wanted to play in the Inkspirations challenge too :)  This week it's this sketch:
Here's my card:

On Friday I was in town and went to visit my favourite shop...Regal Press, in Launceston.  It's the BEST place to spend lots of money lol...anyhow...I found some new papers by a company I haven't seen before and just had to have some...bought one of nearly all of the ones there!!  They are DS and have a blingy side and an ordinary side.  I wanted to use one of the black & white papers for the Pollycraft challenge...so that's what my whole card is based around...a piece of paper lol!

I've used the oh-so-cute Flo with Flowers from Pollycraft and coloured her with Copics and Prismas (hair).  Her hair really stumped me as it's curly and I couldn't figure out how I was going to achieve that with the Copics in black (black hair is not my strong point!)  She very nearly got pink hair until I thought of using the pencils!!  I wish the bling would photo better...the paper is GORGEOUS.  Guess it doesn't help when you're trying to photo in night light :(  One of these days I'm going to finish a project during the day and not be pushing to get the project into a challenge, so I can photo in natural light :)

Here's a close up of the cute Flo:

Fairy Bookmark

Time for another Copic/Promarker Challenge at The Outlawz.  This week the challenge is “Anything Goes”.  I wanted to make another bookmark…I’m loving making these lately :)

Here’s my project:

I’ve used a free design from Colouring Page Tuesdays and coloured it with Copics.  The DP is one of my favourites from Kaiser…Dancing Jewel…the colours are gorgeous in this collection. Normally I’d use a ribbon at the top but this time I couldn’t find anything in my stash that I was happy with, so I went to my (ancient!) wool embroidery yarn box and found a few different fibres to plait together. I don’t mind it but would rather have had a matching ribbon!!

Thanks for looking…have a wonderful day :)

Supplies:
CS:  X-Press blending card
DP:  Dancing Jewel from Kaiser
Stamps:  Freebie from Colouring Page Tuesdays, SU Just Believe
Colouring:  Copics, glitter pen
Other:  Eyelet from stash, yarn from embroidery stash, Kaiser rhinestone, glaze pen, foam dots, SU Circle Scallop & Circle punches, Kaiser ink pad for sentiment & edges of panel

Life happens. Love helps.

The challenge at Pollycraft this week is  Sweet Pastel Colours.  I thought I'd play along and use the current sketch from The Outlawz Sketch Challenge for my card.

I've used Sydney Hugs from Paula at Pollycraft.  I've had  this little cutie (along with quite a few others!!) for a while and hadn't coloured her...I'm going really well so far with my New Year's resolution to use as much from my stash as possible...of course, that won't stop me buying more to add to it lol!!

Here's my card:

and a close up of the cute Sydney:

I think I'm going to put inside the card:  When all else fails, hug your teddy!!

DP:  SU

Let's Get Romantic

The Copic/Promarker challenge at The Outlawz this week is "Let's Get Romantic"...you can interpret this however you want...romance means something different to each of us. My hubby doesn't have a romantic bone in his body lol, but I love him dearly anyway...he shows me all the time that he loves me by all the little things he does...everyday things, not big romantic things (well, not even little romantic things lol). I think he's brought me flowers once in the 30 years we've been together lol...I tease him about it often and his response is always that flowers are for saying sorry when you've done something wrong!! Cop out if you ask me :)

Here's my very first DT card (can you tell I'm excited!!):

I found these cute Teddy Bo images while visiting one of my lovely blogland friends, Robyn.  They are such cute images that I had to go and check them out, of course! This one really caught my eye and I thought it would be perfect for this week's challenge :)

I hope you'll come on over and play with us this week...or maybe in one of the other challenges...there's a challenge for each day of the week.

Thanks for looking....have a wonderful day :)

Kissing Couple...and some exciting news :)

Hello everyone...I have some very exciting news.....drum roll :)....I have managed to get a place on the DT for the Copic group at The Outlawz....YAY...doin' the happy dance right now :) :) :)  This has been a very trying week for me, so this news has brightened me up no-end!!  I'm on my lovely friend Tammy's team...a lot to live up to...her work is truly awesome!  Come on over and join in the fun :)
Edited to add:  The Copic challenge is now the COPIC/PROMARKER Challenge...YAY...this means all our talented Promarker artists can come play with us too :)

Here's a card I made to enter into 3 of the challenges at The Outlawz : Tuesday Colour Challenge - Red, Pink & White, Wednesday Challenge - Sketch, Friday Copic Challenge - Show me some red love.  I was aiming to do a birthday card and put it in the Monday Birthday Challenge but couldn't decide on an image to colour in reds!!!!

This really was a BIG challenge for me as red & pink aren't my favourite colours...or colour combo...but that's the whole idea of challenges...to stretch you and push you out of your comfort zone :)

I've used the Val & Vinnie digi stamp from Michelle Perkett, available in her Etsy store HERE.  Michelle has some gorgeous images...well worth a visit to her store :)  I have a rather large collection of them lol!  I've had this one for a-a-ages but it has just been sitting waiting for me to do something with it (along with a 'few' others!)

Here's a close up of the cute couple:

Now that I see the card finished I realise that by leaving his pants white they now look a lot like PJ pants LOL...you will just have to imagine she's giving him his good morning kiss!!!!

Colouring with reds isn't my fave pastime...they bleed so easily...and why on earth I chose such a delicate image to use them on is beyond me...silly me :)  Anyhow, I didn't do anything too drastic with the bleeding...phew!

Thanks for looking...have a wonderful day :)

Supplies:
CS:  X-Press blending card, SU Whisper White & Real Red
DP:  Retired digi paper from Jady Day Studio
Stamp:  Val & Vinnie from Michelle Perkett
Colouring:  Copics, glitter pens
Other:  Glaze pen, CB Tiny Tags die, ribbon & heart button from stash, SU border punch, SU Crystal Effects, brad, foam dots

"New Things"

The Pollycraft challenge this week is "New Things"...they want to see what yummy new goodies you received from Santa :)  Since I became addicted to all things papercraft my family know to give me gift vouchers for my favourite craft shop...so I had a nice little shop when I went into town after Christmas and still have one more voucher to use...I'm saving it up to see what the new Kaiser release will be...love most of their stuff!!  Especially their wooden products. I really enjoy 3D projects and they have some great things to decorate.

Anyhow...on to my project.  This is a baby box I made for Phoebe, to go with her towel (see last post) and card.  Something to put the little keepsakes in...hospital bracelet, newspaper announcement, etc.  This isn't the box I wanted but when I went to get it they were sold out :(  I'm still happy with how this turned out but would have preferred the other one...it has little 'windows' around the sides and I knew exactly what I wanted to do with them...oh well...maybe someone will produce another baby for me to make it for lol!

Here it is:
And here's the front, top & side:

I've used one of the Lillybean Fairies from Pollycraft AGAIN :) I just LOVE these fairies...they are soooo nice to colour and are so sweet.  The DP is Tiny Tots digi paper from Scraporchard.  It's so hard to find traditional, soft pink or blue baby DP...must suggest that to Kaiser lol!! Clover has been coloured with Copics and cut out, then popped up on foam dots.  The decorations around the box sides are elements from the Kaiser Hey Birdie paper range, cut out and glued on.  I created the name on the top before printing the DP panel. I then used SU Crystal Effects over the letters and sprinkled with SU Dazzling Diamonds...it looks pretty IRL...just hard to photo.

Thanks for looking...have a wonderful day :)

Supplies:
CS:  X-Press blending card, SU Rose Red
DP:  Tiny Tots from Scraporchard, Kaiser Hey Birdie
Stamp:  Lillybean Fairy from Pollycraft
Colouring:  Copics, glitter pens
Other:  Kaiser rhinestones, Diamond Stickles, SU Crystal Effects, Perfect Pearls, foam dots, Pink craft paint

Phoebe's Card

Our next door neighbours have just had their first baby...a girl...Phoebe Grace. She's gorgeous, of course...aren't all babies lol!!  I love babies and I love making baby things...whether it's papercraft or sewing, so I couldn't resist making a pressie for the new arrival :)

Here's the card I made:

And the inside:

I am really happy with how this turned out...not often I'm totally happy with my projects so this is a nice change for me!  I've used digi papers from Scraporchard for the DP and kept the design fairly simple.  I've been wanting to use this gorgeous baby digi for some time and have just been waiting for someone to produce a baby that I could make it for lol!  My babies always slept on their tummies, so this brings back lovely memories for me :)  The inside panel has been computer generated and printed onto DP from the same collection.  It's a bit hard to see in the photo but the circle mat and hanging tag have a glitter edge...it's very pretty IRL :)

Thanks for looking....have a wonderful day :)

I am entering this into the following challenges:
Paper PlayClean & Simple
Stamp Something:  Something with Glitter
Mad For Markers:  Anything Goes

Supplies:
CS:  X-Press It Blending card, SU Pretty in Pink & Whisper White
DP:  Tiny Tots from Scraporchard
Stamps:  Oh Baby digi stamp from CC Designs, Sleeping Infant from Digi Doodles
Colouring:  Copics, glitter pens
Other:  CM Cutting system, Sprinkles, ball chain, ribbon from stash, SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter

And this is the embroidered towel I made as part of Phoebe's welcome gift:

My embroidery machine was very happy to see me lol...it's been a loooong time since I did any serious sewing!!!!
