Too Cute to Spook

Hello everyone...our new challenge this week at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group is Halloween...so we're hoping to see lots of cute, spooky creations from you :)

Not many Aussies celebrate Halloween so I have no idea what I'm going to do with this card but I had fun making it:

This is a very different fold card which I saw on Deneen's blog: A Path of Paper. She has instructions for how to make this type of card....called a Bendy Fold....HERE. I altered the dimensions of mine to make it my fave size.... 5 1/2" square....and to accommodate the fence :) It's a really easy card to make, unless you try to be really clever like me and make a fence that matches up!!!!!!! That bit was a little tricky lol It would be lots of fun to decorate and would suit any occasion. I'm definitely going to use this style again.

Here's the left front flap open....the wording says "Too Cute to Spook":

And with both flaps open:

The cute little witch is from Stitchy Bear Stamps and all papers are digi from Summer Driggs. The howling wolf and moon, with the starry sky, are one image, to which I've added the bat and sentiment panel from the elements in the kit. The fence and cat are also elements in the kit. I've layered the cat onto the fence, tweaked the fence panels to the right size (that was fun!!) then printed and fussy cut. To finish the back of the card I used a Halloween DP, cut slightly smaller than the card size.

Although I'm not a huge Halloween fan, I love how this turned out :)  Not often I'm really happy with the end result of my creative labours but this is one of those rare ones that I just love...why, I have no idea!

It's hard to see in the photo....her underskirt, hat band and dress bodice have been painted with shimmer mist and the stars twinkle thanks to a bit of Diamond Stickles :)  Looks very pretty IRL!

Asian Tea

Happy Friday....it's challenge time again at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group. Our theme this week is Asian Inspiration.....I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone interprets this one :)

I made a card:

I've used a cute little geisha girl serving tea from Whimsie Doodles. The gorgeous DP is a digi freebie from Numb Bumm. I've had this for quite a while and been wanting to use it, it's a beautiful set.

The background mat, background scene, bamboo screen and image have been layered in my photo editing program and printed onto X-Press It blending card for colouring the image. The words on the fan were created digitally before printing, and the fan was then fussy cut and popped up on dots.

I chose this theme.....don't know why on earth I did (other than I wanted to use the digi papers!) as I hate colouring black hair :(

Hope you'll come and play along with us this week.....we'd love to see what you come up with!

Save the Hooters!

Ooooops...I'm a bit late posting this :(  Silly Blogger and its scheduling probs...grrrrr
The challenges at our Copic/Promarker group at The Outlawz are a bit out of kilter due to our HUGE week of celebrations for our 1000 Member Party.  Our challenges resume their normal postings from yesterday :)

And before I get onto my project.....our Copic/Promarker group have a FABULOUS prize for the rest of our regular October challenges......THE FULL SET OF POLLYCRAFT "CHESTER" DESIGNS!!!  These are SOOOOO cute, you won't want to miss out on a chance at winning them. Plus, we have some other great prizes at The Outlawz for October....so come along and join us for some fun :)

Now that the business stuff is out of the way, our theme this week is Pink/Opal/Breast Cancer Awareness. As October is BCA month, I decided to go with that theme for my card....

I've gone with a humorous approach. How could I resist these cuties?? By now I'm sure you've figured out I'm a bit mad for owls lol  The image is Save the Hooters from Whimsie Doodles and I've coloured with my trusty Copics and glitter pen. I've blinged the bra up a bit....what self-respecting girl doesn't love a bit of bling!! The band has been glazed with a Sakura glaze pen, to look like satin, and some little rhinestones added. The 'cups' have shimmer mist painted on them for a little added sparkle....looks a bit like the lycra stuff used in lingerie :) Hard to see in the photo but IRL it looks very pretty.

I think we all know someone who has been touched by this awful illness. Over the years I've lost a couple of friends to breast cancer and 2 years ago one of my nieces was diagnosed with it. She ended up having a mastectomy, chemo, radiation and eventually reconstructive surgery....a long, difficult journey. I'm very happy and relieved to say that she is now doing really well....thank goodness!

The Outlawz 1000 Member Party

WOO HOO...party week at The Outlawz has started. Come on over and join in the fun with us. There's LOTS of challenges to choose from...something for everyone...and the prizes are AWESOME!!

Along with the challenges for the party, we also have games, a blog hop, and many other ways to win prizes. We have over $800 in prizes to give away!!
Be sure to check out the main page to see all of the party activities and and the details for each activity.

Our Copic/Promarker group have a Fall Colours/Theme with a twist of making a different fold card. The DT have all made a Z fold card from a tutorial written up by Jo. It's a fabulous tute so hop on over to Jo's blog and have a look.

PLEASE NOTE: You don't have to make a Z fold...any fold other than a standard card is fine...the DT wanted to use Jo's tutorial, that's why our cards are all the same style!

Here's my card:

I cut the card shape with my trusty KNK Maxx. The dimensions are the same as Jo's tutorial...the base shape is still 5 1/2" x 5 1/2"  The digi stamp is from our lovely, talented teamie, Anne Fenton. I've sponged SU inks around the image for the sky and ground, then coloured with Copics.  The DP on the front is digi from Go Digital and has been printed onto SU Natural Ivory CS, for a nice firm base. The DP inside is from Kaiser.

Hope you'll come and join us this week and help us to celebrate our big milestone...we'd love to see your creations.
