The Pollycraft challenge this week is Diamonds & Pearls. I'm getting in by the skin of my teeth AGAIN!! But this week I do have an excuse...I'm interstate, staying with my lovely friend Helen, so I'm posting this from her house :) Today is the last day of my visit...I head home tonight :(
Here's my card...
This is Star Fairy from Pollycraft...coloured with Prisma pencils...I need LOTS of experimenting & practice with this medium as I'm not really happy with the shading :( I love the look of the pencils and am determined to stick with them until I work out the best method and paper to get the result I want. Being at Helen's was the perfect excuse to play with this medium as I couldn't bring my Copics with me or my luggage would have been overweight lol!! I've been wanting to play with the pencils for ages but seem to always reach for my Copics...the pencils have pushed me well & truly out of my comfort zone!!!
I'll post all the details when I get home :)
Have a wonderful day :)

Dreams are like stars...
Hello everyone...it's Friday AGAIN...they seem to be coming around very fast these days lol!! And Friday means a new Copic/Promarker challenge over at The Outlawz. Our theme this week is to colour hair in depth. Sheesh...this isn't my favourite colouring pastime!! Being on the DT is challenging me to get out of my comfort zone and try different things...thanks Tammy :)
Here's what I came up with this week:
This beautiful goddess is Billie Mann Goddess from Gingerloft Designs. I thought she'd be perfect for this challenge with all that hair to colour lol The little tag reads: Dreams are like stars...you may never touch them but if you follow them they will lead you to your destiny. I created the tag on the computer, using the wording from a Kaiser tag in the gorgeous new Magic Happens collection. The colours weren't right to use with this, so I made my own :) I thought it was a perfect sentiment to use as she's surrounded by little stars.
And a close up of the beautiful goddess :)
Thanks for looking...have a wonderful day :)
Supplies:
CS: X-Press It blending card, SU Choc Chip & More Mustard
DP: Kaiser Devonshire Collection from the 6" pad
Stamp: Billie Mann Goddess from Gingerloft Designs
Colouring: Copics, glitter pens
Other: Glaze pen, mesh ribbon & brad from stash, Kaiser rhinestones, foam dots, Old Paper Distress Ink

Cupcake Kiki
Well...I'm a bit earlier getting my entry into the Pollycraft challenge this week...but not by much! The theme this week is "Special Birthdays". There are a few babies coming up to one soon so I've made a card...for a beautiful little girl called Elke.
Card closed:
I used the very cute Kiki with Cakes & the single Cupcake from Pollycraft and made a tri shutter card...a style I love but haven't made for ages. They are so much fun to decorate :) The gorgeous papers are from a digi kit by Shabby Elements. I actually managed to get this finished in daylight hours for a change but still had probs with the photoing because it's been pouring rain and very grey here today :( AND tri shutters aren't the easiest things to photo at the best of times!!

I coloured 4 of the little cupcakes for the corner sections and matted them with the green CS. The sentiment panel was computer generated, using one of the ribbon elements for the frame. I've left the centre panel inside the card plain for a hand-written greeting.
Thanks for looking...have a wonderful day :)

Cute Boot-skootin' Dude :)
The Outlawz Party is well and truly underway...have you been over and checked out all the FANTASTIC entries and prizes for the different challenges yet??!! You can even win a prize without entering a challenge, so head on over and check out all the fun.
Our Copic/Promarker challenge theme for the party is "It's a Hoedown" What's a hoedown I hear you ask...in Tammy's words ('cause I had to ask this question too lol)...a lively country dance, usually involving square dancing! So we'd like to see a project with a dancing, western theme...easy :) Because I live in Aus and western isn't a big thing here, I chose to base my theme on line dancing, which is probably the closest thing to western dancing I've seen here.
So here's my card for the challenge:
Isn't he just the cutest thing you've ever seen!! This little dude is from Digi Doodles...they noted on this image that it's been their most popular...I can understand why :) The 'lasso' is kitchen string, sewn on by machine because I couldn't even think about trying to glue it on without making a mess everywhere lol...and I've been going to do some sewing on my cards for ages, so hopefully this will get me motivated to do some more. Bad, considering I've sewn all my life...the things paper addiction does to you...have hardly touched my poor machine since the bug bit lol!! The wanted stamp is a Papercraft stamp I bought at Spotlight...scanned the stamped image and added the words in my photo program.
I hope you go over and check out the other DT projects and entries...they are all amazing.
Thanks for looking....have a wonderful day :)
Supplies:
CS: X-Press It blending card, SU Really Rust & Crumb Cake
DP: Little Buckaroo from Peppermint Creative
Stamps: Lil Cowboy from Digi Doodles, Papercraft stamp set
Colouring: Copics
Other: Kitchen string, Old Paper Distress Ink, glaze pen, foam dots

Melody in Love
I seem to be getting my Pollycraft projects into the challenge very late these days :( I'm going to endeavour to be a bit earlier next week!! The challenge theme this week is a sketch and LOVE...perfect for Valentine's Day (not that hubby & I celebrate Valentine's lol) :)
Here's my card:
I've used Melody in Love from Pollycraft...another image I've had for aaaages and hadn't used! I chose varying shades of green for the DP & Melody's dress so that the little red hearts would really stand out. The gorgeous DP is from the Kaiser English Rose 6" paper pad collection. The flourish, scallop heart and mat have all been cut with my KNK Maxx. The little tag is one of the die cuts from the paper pad, mounted on a punched circle. It's a bit hard to see in this photo but I've stamped "I Love You" on the tag in silver ink. To highlight the flourish I traced around it with a Sakura Stardust glitter pen.
I took this photo on an angle to catch all the glittery bits :)
And I think this photo is a better indication of the actual colours. If you click on the photo to enlarge it's easier to see the bling :) Yet again I have photo'd this at night!! :( Will I ever learn to get my projects finished in daylight hours???!!!
Thanks for looking...have a wonderful day :)
I am also entering this in the Digital Tuesday challenge: From the Heart Valentines Day
Supplies:
CS: X-Press It blending card, Gold glitter CS
DP: Kaiser English Rose collection
Stamps: Felicity in Love from Pollycraft, Inkadinkado Greetings
Colouring: Copics, glitter pens
Other: SU Crystal Effects, glaze pen, SU River Rock ink, Silver ink, foam dots, KNK Maxx, Heart & Mat cutting file from Mamalaws

Cynthia Frame
Our theme this week for The Outlawz Copic/Promarker Challenge is Shading & Highlighting. Lots of crafters use a white paint pen to add extra highlights to their work, but as of yet, I haven’t found one that I’ve been happy with :( I keep looking and trying so eventually I’m sure I’ll find something I’m happy with! The highlighting in my project is just done with the Copics as I’m colouring the lighter areas of the design.
I haven’t made a Kaiser wood frame for quite a while…I really enjoyed getting all painty again lol I’m not very neat with paint and wear as much as I put on the wood!! Just as well it washes off with water :)
Here’s my project:
The image is Cynthia with Mushrooms from Stamping Boutique…she’s very cute (another image from my stash). In case you hadn’t noticed, I’m a bit partial to fairies lol! Cynthia has been fussy cut and popped up on foam dots. I experimented with the camera this time to see if I could get the bling to photo better…the photo of the close up, before I cut her out, actually shows it fairly well. I even managed to get the bling to show in the frame photo (you need to click on the photo to enlarge it to see the bling). The DP is gorgeous and came already glittered & glazed.
Here's the uncut image:

IT'S A PARTY!!!
YAY...we've reached 300 members!!
There's a party happening over at The Outlawz...no need to gatecrash... you're all welcome :) Come on over and have some fun. Hope to see you there! Verity
The Outlawz Tuesday Colour Challenge this week is a green & purple theme with polka dots...how could I resist that!! :) Green & purple being my favourite colours I had to find time to play...even if I did only just make it before the challenge ended lol. I've also used The Outlawz Wednesday Sketch for my layout.
Here's my card:
This is Verity Standing from Sugar Nellie...isn't she GORGEOUS! I've admired the Sugar Nellie stamps for quite a while but haven't been tempted to hunt them down in Aus. They have released some digi images and as soon as I saw that I hopped straight on over there and bought a couple :) I can feel a new devotion coming on lol
Thanks for looking...have a wonderful day :)

Garden Fairies....
It's Friday again...time for another Copic/Promarker challenge at The Outlawz :) Our theme this week is to use your Favourite Technique on your project. My favourite technique is Feather Blending / Flicking. I rarely use the traditional circular blending technique...except for skin...I seem to do better with blending 'strokes' :) I love the feather blending for combining 2 colours...for example, fairy wings...it gives a lovely, graduated result.
You won't want to miss what's coming up at The Outlawz ... more info coming soon!!!
For this week's project I made my niece a birthday card & bookmark:
The beautiful fairy is the Butterfly Fairy from Sketching Stamper...she's been in my stash for quite some time, waiting patiently to be used :) I've made an easel card using gorgeous digital papers, fussy cut the fairy and popped her up on foam dots. The computer generated caption reads... Garden fairies come at dawn, bless the flowers then they're gone... The large butterfly is a cutting file, cut with my KNK Maxx.
For the bookmark I used the same fairy image and overlaid her with a butterfly from Tiffany Doodles. The caption here is also computer generated and says... Follow your Dreams I used digi papers from the same collection for the backing.
Here's a close up of the fairy & butterfly:

DP: Digi paper kit from Twilight Scraps
Stamps: Butterfly Fairy from Sketching Stamper, Butterfly from Tiffany Doodles
Colouring: Copics, glitter pens, glaze pen
