Owl Bookmark, Pocket & Pin...and Some News!

Hello everyone...happy Friday :) This week at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker challenge we have a very easy theme for you...ANYTHING GOES...and don't forget our OPTIONAL calendar page twist. We have a new file for April 2013 all ready and waiting for you to collect and print out :)  If you've missed the first few months pages, the files are all in our folder so you can download them and catch up. We'd love to see what you do with them and at the end of the year we'll be drawing a winner by random from the completed entries...you gotta be in it to win it lol

Sadly, this is my last challenge with The Outlawz Copic/Promarker DT. I have decided to step down at the end of this challenge as I need to free up a lot more of my time for a new venture I'm beginning...NO...not another DT!! This is a small business venture I hope to launch soon...I'll keep you posted and when I have my website up and running I'll post about it here :)  I am going to miss my teamies a LOT. They are the BEST group of ladies anyone could ever wish to work with. I've been very privileged to work beside these talented girls for the last 14 months and I've enjoyed every moment of it. I hope to find time to play for fun in the odd challenge, once I get organised and settled with the new venture...after all, I have a calendar to finish this year lol
Thanks girls for all your friendship and support...and to Colleen, thank you for giving me the opportunity to be part of such a warm, friendly, encouraging bunch of designers :) BIG HUGS to you all xxx

PS  My blog is likely to be neglected for a bit but I'll be back as soon as I can!!!
Now onto my project lol.............

I haven't made a calendar page this time...I've made a bookmark & pocket:

I made this as a thank you present for one of my teamies at The Outlawz. I was desperate to acquire a ticket punch and couldn't find one anywhere in Australia...frustrating!!  Maureen came to the rescue and sent me her SU one that she said she never used....I was SOOOOO happy to get this punch and use it a LOT!! So thank you Maureen for your generosity, I really appreciate it....*waving and sending hugs*  I sent this off to Maureen last month so it would arrive before I blogged it for our challenge :)

I've used one of my fave owls from Pink Cat Studio for the bookmark and added the wording in My Memories Suite...LOVE that program! I then printed onto Neenah Classic Ivory and coloured Mrs Owl with Copics and glitter pens. The pocket and bookmark backing are DP from the SU Sale-a-Bration catty, called Everyday Enchantment. I LOVE every paper in this pack and wish it was in the main catty so I could BUY more of it :) The colours and designs are beautiful.

I made a pocket to slip the bookmark into.  Made my own template and used an SU border punch to decorate the flap. The lovely frame behind the flower is a Spellbinders die and the flower is another  handmade one, which has the edges inked with a Copic marker before spraying and scrunching the petals.

I also made a little Owl Pin to send. I saw this idea and I must admit I've gone a bit mad with it...well, I can't resist cute little owls you know! This is the one I made for Maureen:

And here are the pressies all together:

The little pins are so easy to make and I find it really relaxing...you don't have to think about much of the process once you do one or two :)  They are coated with SU Crystal Effects and have a brooch pin on the back for attaching to whatever you fancy.

Well, if you're still with me, you deserve a medal lol I think this is the longest post I've ever written!!

Pollycraft Easter Celeste

I'm back with another scheduled post for our Copic/Promarker challenge at The Outlawz.  Still on holiday...maybe I'll run away and not go back home to work!! Oh, I forgot, my lovely hubby is there waiting for me...oh well, better go back soon then lol

Our challenge this week is Easter OR Bunnies OR Chocolate...take your pick...or combine all three if you like :)  We'd love to see what you come up with for this theme, so hop on over and play along with us.

I'm not really into Easter cards so decided to do a calendar page. Easter is in March next year...just as well I Googled it or I'd have put it on the wrong month!  Here's my page:

Please let me introduce you to Celeste Amberglow...isn't she cute :)  Celeste is the newest member of the Pollycraft family...there were 6 images in this release. Of course I HAD to buy all of them lol

I've layered her onto digi paper and added the label and wording in My Memories Suite, then printed out the panel onto X-Press It blending card and coloured her with Copics.

Here's a close up of the cute little lady:

No Copic colours for this one...sorry. I can tell you there were a LOT of them though!! I never cease to be amazed at how many markers I use when I colour what looks to be a fairly simple design.

Thanks for looking.......have a wonderful day :)

Supplies:
CS:   X-Press It blending card, SU Very Vanilla (for calendar page)
DP:   Digi from Sweet Shoppe
Stamp:   Celeste Amberglow from Pollycraft
Colouring:   Copics, glitter pens

Make it Crafty Violet Hanger

Happy Friday...this is a scheduled post as we are away at a business conference in Queensland and then I'm going on to visit a friend in the north of the state while I'm here...coming home via Helen's for 2 nights...*waving* Helen, will be there soon :)

This week our challenge theme at The Outlaws Copic/Promarker group is HUMOUR, so let's see all those funny images or sayings you have tucked away in your stash. You can make anything you like...doesn't have to be a card. We're hoping to get lots of laughs this week from your entries!!

We also have a fabulous tutorial for you this week, done by our talented teamie Jo.  There's a video and PDF so come on over and have a look. We'd love to see anything you make with the instructions.

I've made a hanger....

I saw this saying a while back...somewhere??...and loved it. Perfect for a hanger lol so I just had to find an image to go with it. I've used Violet from Make it Crafty...isn't she gorgeous :)  I would have liked to make a project using Jo's tutorial but couldn't find those particular folders in Aus :(

I haven't made a hanger for a while and had forgotten how much I enjoy them. I'll probably have a bit of a run on them again now!  Violet has been printed onto Cryogen White (iridescent), coloured with Copics & glitter pens, fussy cut and popped up on foam dots...she is about 5 1/2" tall. This is what I love so much about digis, you can make them any size to suit your project. This is the first time I've tried the Cryogen paper. I bought some from the US to see what I thought of it...it sounded lovely with the iridescent finish...and my teamie, Carla, uses it all the time. I like it but it definitely handles differently to the X-Press It blending card, which is still my favourite :)  The Cryogen will be anice alternative for a change and sort of (but not quite lol) saves using the shimmer sprays I love so much :)

The wooden hanger is one that hubby made me. I still have a few left to use before I ask him for another lot. He helps support my addiction lol

Dustin Pike Monkey Box

Hello there...it's Friday...already!!...boy, do they come around fast!  We have a new challenge up for our Copic/Promarker group at The Outlawz. Our theme this week is Men Only...a hard one for me as I'm not too good with the guy stuff, unless of course it's cute lol

Here's my project:

I've been going to make this little pressie for a very long time...like, for over a year! I wanted to say a thank you to my lovely friend Helen's hubby, for loaning her to me for a visit. Was going to do it after her last visit but haven't managed to get organised, so this time when she went home I was determined to make sure I did something to send!!  Still took me a few weeks but at least we're not a year down the track this time :)

Helen's hubby isn't much of a chocolate eater (I sure wish I had missed the chocolate eating gene!) but apparently he likes Wagon Wheels, so that was what I went and bought...this is the third lot since deciding on this pressie because the first 2 lots went out of date before I got the box made LOL  Sadly we had to eat them...couldn't be sending stale Wagon Wheels as a pressie now could we!! :)

Here's a view of the box open:

And one from the top:

And another one showing the Wagon Wheels inside :)  (Yes, I really am sending them this time!!)

I based this little box on a fabulous tutorial from Bronwyn which you can find HERE.  Mine ended up being a whole box, rather than a treat holder because the WWs are quite large. I made the box with a flap opening in the top for easy access. The cute images are from Dustin Pike. The monkey's sign comes blank so I added the text and arrow with My Memories Suite...the more I use it, the more I love this software.  The monkey inside has a half-eaten cupcake in the original image, which I removed for this project, and looks like he's over-indulged :)  The images were coloured with Copics...not even any glitter pens on this one :(  Wonder why boys don't have the same fascination with bling that us girls do lol
