Do Crafts Black & Gold

I'm back with another September birthday card...phew, nearly all done! We have 7 birthdays in September that we celebrate. It's a bit of a crazy month lol

This card is for one of my lovely friends....happy belated birthday Helen xx

The stamp is from a Do Crafts Black & Gold set. I've had this set for at least a year and haven't used it...hmmm...also have a few more stamp sets in my drawer that haven't been inked up yet :(

The image was stamped onto an SU Top Note die, cut in X-Press It blending card, and coloured with Copics. The box top has been paper pieced and the bow stamped again and coloured with Copics. The bow was then cut out and layered on top of the box. The bow has been finished with SU Dazzling Diamonds glitter and then covered with a layer of SU Crystal Effects. Looks much nicer IRL :)

All CS and DP is from SU...base card is Crumb Cake, mats are Cherry Cobbler and embossed border (Sizzix EF) strip is Baja Breeze. The mat for the Top Note was cut with my KNK Maxx. The sentiment is from the SU Teeny Tiny Sentiments set.

I'm entering this into the following challenges:

The Squirrel & The Fox - Celebrate the Occasion
Tip Top Tuesday - Good with Food
Love to Create - Anything Goes
Party Time Tuesday - Anything Goes
TTCRD - Anything Goes

Thanks for looking........have a wonderful day :)

Sweet Pea Butterfly Girl

Hello all, I'm back again. I've really been enjoying my recent projects....it seems such a long time since I posted regularly! I'm getting pretty much up to date with all the September birthdays...yay  Only a couple more to go...and I have one of them made already, just need to blog it :)

Today's card is for a friend and will be going in the mail on Monday...it's a tad late as her birthday is on Monday...should have been posted on Friday!! It's been sitting here for a couple of weeks but I forgot to mail it :(

This is one of the beautiful rubber stamps from Sweet Pea, by Ching Chou Kuik. It belongs to my lovely friend, Helen. I stamped a couple of these when I stayed with Helen earlier in the year (or was it last year??)  I know I've had her in my stash for quite some time!

She has been coloured with Copics and I've used a few Prismas on her hair to highlight. As usual I've used my trusty glitter pens to highlight areas, as well as SU Crystal Effects for the butterfly body. I had extra images stamped of the butterfly so have fussy cut one and layered it over the base image. The wings have been bent up a little for dimension. The DP is all by Kaiser from one of my fave 6" paper pads. CS is SU. The strip panel  behind the image is embossed with a butterfly folder. Across the bottom I've used a lovely little tulle trim I picked up ages ago from our local craft shop, Regal Press.

I am entering this in the following challenges:

CMC Copic Challenge - Fall Colours
Papertake Weekly - A Hazy Shade of Autumn
Digital Tuesday - Things with Wings
Love to Create - Things with Wings

Thanks for looking.........have a wonderful day :)

Fabulous 40!

I'm back again with the card that's going with Amanda's card box....which you can see HERE in my last post :)

* I'm very disappointed with the colour in this photo....don't know what's happened as I used my photo tent to take it :(  I'll try for a better one in the morning if I get time, to replace it

I've made a centre step card. Card base is SU Bravo Burgundy and the DP is from the same paper pad used in the box project...Love Letters. The stamp is a digi from Digi Stamp Boutique and has been printed on to X-Press It card and coloured with Copics. Her dress has been paper pieced with paper from the same paper pad. As usual, glitter pens have been used to highlight, along with SU Crystal effects for the cake icing. I hunted out some ancient CM number stickers and used Stickles to give them a bit of bling. The sentiment is from SU and has been embossed with Polysparkle EP...LOVE that stuff :)

Here's a close up of the birthday girl....
I'm feeling pretty rusty on the colouring but I am enjoying getting to use my beloved (and neglected!) Copics again. I find colouring very therapeutic when I'm not scowling in concentration lol

I'd like to enter this in the following challenges:

Amanda's Box of Cards

Hello again....I'm back for a little visit lol  I've managed to get a few projects done lately but haven't had time to blog them :( I'm going to try and do that over the next week. September is a BIG month of birthdays for us so I've been making cards & pressies :) The project I'm blogging today is for a lovely friend who is turning 40 this year....makes me feel very old!!

I used instructions from a Masterclass in one of the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazines, for a card box. Amanda isn't crafty so I thought I'd make her some cards to have on hand, to save her having to buy them as birthdays etc come up...I hope she likes it!

Here's the front of the box:

The stamp is a freebie Wee Stamp from Simply Cards magazine last month. I LOVE it when they have free stamps :) This set has 2 images and an assortment of sentiments. The DP is from a 6" glitter paper pad by First Edition called Love Letters. I couldn't resist this little paper pad when I saw it, so I'm really pleased I've actually used some of it...I didn't NEED any more paper to add to my stash lol Thankfully it has 4 pages of each pattern or I wouldn't have had enough to make this project.

I've sort of decoupaged the cute little girl....stamped the image on Iridescent Cryogen white, cut it out with a Nestie, then airbrushed the edges before removing the panel. I stamped the pretty girl (and little bee) onto ivory Neenah and coloured her with Copics, then fussy cut her and popped her up on dots over the bottom image. The finished image was highlighted in areas with glitter pen, spica pen, glaze pen & Stickles.

First time I've used the Copic airbrush my lovely friend Helen bought me, way back in February. To be honest, I was a bit scared of it lol  Takes a bit of getting used to but I think I'm going to really like it once I play a bit more.  Thanks Helen, you are such a wonderful enabler :)

Here's the inside:

I think I must be a bit rusty at this paper making thing cos I made a boo boo here :(  I managed to get the measurements for the card side wrong so had to turn it around the other way...it's supposed to face the opposite way to the envelope side :(  So then I had to invent a flap for the top so it looked okay when it was closed. I couldn't cut a new piece as I didn't have enough DP left to do so!

The box and its cards:

There are 7 cards to go in the box. They are all quick and easy...no colouring but lots of stamping and embossing :)  I don't usually do much stamping (being a bit of a digi girl) and I'm not that great at it, but I really enjoyed making these.

I am also entering this in the current challenge at Anything But a Card Challenge Blog {I found this on the lovely Mary J's blog...thanks Mary :) }  I LOVE making 3D projects, so this is right up my alley!

Thanks for looking.........have a wonderful day :)
