Hello again....I'm back for a little visit lol I've managed to get a few projects done lately but haven't had time to blog them :( I'm going to try and do that over the next week. September is a BIG month of birthdays for us so I've been making cards & pressies :) The project I'm blogging today is for a lovely friend who is turning 40 this year....makes me feel very old!!
I used instructions from a Masterclass in one of the Cardmaking & Papercraft magazines, for a card box. Amanda isn't crafty so I thought I'd make her some cards to have on hand, to save her having to buy them as birthdays etc come up...I hope she likes it!
Here's the front of the box:
The stamp is a freebie Wee Stamp from Simply Cards magazine last month. I LOVE it when they have free stamps :) This set has 2 images and an assortment of sentiments. The DP is from a 6" glitter paper pad by First Edition called Love Letters. I couldn't resist this little paper pad when I saw it, so I'm really pleased I've actually used some of it...I didn't NEED any more paper to add to my stash lol Thankfully it has 4 pages of each pattern or I wouldn't have had enough to make this project.
I've sort of decoupaged the cute little girl....stamped the image on Iridescent Cryogen white, cut it out with a Nestie, then airbrushed the edges before removing the panel. I stamped the pretty girl (and little bee) onto ivory Neenah and coloured her with Copics, then fussy cut her and popped her up on dots over the bottom image. The finished image was highlighted in areas with glitter pen, spica pen, glaze pen & Stickles.
First time I've used the Copic airbrush my lovely friend Helen bought me, way back in February. To be honest, I was a bit scared of it lol Takes a bit of getting used to but I think I'm going to really like it once I play a bit more. Thanks Helen, you are such a wonderful enabler :)
Here's the inside:
I think I must be a bit rusty at this paper making thing cos I made a boo boo here :( I managed to get the measurements for the card side wrong so had to turn it around the other way...it's supposed to face the opposite way to the envelope side :( So then I had to invent a flap for the top so it looked okay when it was closed. I couldn't cut a new piece as I didn't have enough DP left to do so!
The box and its cards:
There are 7 cards to go in the box. They are all quick and easy...no colouring but lots of stamping and embossing :) I don't usually do much stamping (being a bit of a digi girl) and I'm not that great at it, but I really enjoyed making these.
I am also entering this in the current challenge at
Anything But a Card Challenge Blog {I found this on the lovely Mary J's blog...thanks Mary :) } I LOVE making 3D projects, so this is right up my alley!
Thanks for looking.........have a wonderful day :)
