Cameo

Hello everyone...hope you had a wonderful Christmas and NewYear. It's hard to believe it's 2012!! Where did last year go??!! Hopefully this year will slow down a bit and take its time instead of flying by in a rush.

We have our first challenge for the year up and running at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group. The theme this week is Monochromatic Vintage.

Here's my card:

I've used a freebie from Digital Two for Tuesday called Cameo. There's not much colouring on her so this was a fairly quick project :) The DPs are digital from StarSunflower Studio and have been layered in my MMS software, then printed onto 200gsm CS. The lacy oval is a free cut file from Monica's Creative Room, cut with my trusty KNK Maxx.  And I've made another flower :)  I really love this flower pattern and it's so easy to make...the petals were also cut with Maxx...and it's been liberally sprayed with Glimmer Mist :)

Miss Anya - January

Hello happy crafters...I'm in a very cheery mood because I'm on holidays...yay  We have a break over Christmas/New Year with our business and this year we are taking 3 weeks off!!!  I think we really need the rest. This year has been sooooo full-on!

It's Friday and that means a new challenge for our Copic/Promarker group at The Outlawz. This week we have something a bit different...and a freebie for you if you're interested :)  This is our regular Anything Goes challenge, which we run at the end of each month, but for the next 12 months we have an OPTIONAL twist...to make a calendar page! At the end of the 12 months you will have a completed 2013 calendar to either keep for yourself, or give as a gift....all done in time to give as a Christmas pressie next year. The calendar file is a freebie...created by me in My Memories Suite. The file and instructions are available at our challenge...so if you'd like to play with this optional twist, hop on over and grab the file :)

Here's my first page:

This is another version of the calendar file that I made in MMS. I've used the 'January' from an MMS digi kit and layered the DP background in the program. I've then printed this onto SU Very Vanilla CS. The digi kit has all the month papers in different colours so I've made my pages for each month and used different colour backgrounds. The file prints out as half an A4 page.

I've used a gorgeous Miss Anya from The Greeting Farm, which I stamped while staying with my BFF Helen...thanks Helen...waving :)  I'm ashamed to say she's been sitting in my drawer for a loooong time, with her sisters, waiting to be coloured up :(  The image panel was then matted with SU Merely Mustard and adhered to the background page with repositionable glue so that it can be removed and recycled...can't bear the thoughts of having to throw her away when the calendar expires!!

I intend to either make another calendar for the following year and transfer the images over to the new one, or remove them and use them on other projects :)  Once finished the calendar will either be punched and bound for hanging or made into a desk calendar style.

The blank page:

And a CU of Miss Anya:

Recipe Folder

WISHING YOU A MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY NEW YEAR

Happy Friday everyone...can you believe it's only 2 days 'til Christmas...yikes, where did the year go??!!  Christmas seems to be coming around faster and faster the older I get!

We have a new challenge for you at our Copic/Promarker group at The Outlawz. Our theme this week is FOOD, GLORIOUS FOOD :)  We all seem to be preoccupied with this subject at this time of the year LOL  By the end of the Christmas week we'll all be groaning and wondering how we fit all that food in!!  My DTeamies have created some amazing projects...hope you'll check them out and play along with us.

Only 2 challenges left to be in the draw for the awesome Pollycraft prize!!

This is a project I made a few years back for my BFF Helen. We saw the idea while on a scrapbook shop crawl, on one of my visits with her, so I came home and recreated it. The original cover had an image panel coloured with the ink pad & water brush technique (which BTW I'm HOPELESS at!!)...done waaaaaay before I found Copics and my colouring addiction. Every time I saw that panel post Copic colouring, I cringed...so I decided to make a replacement :) The replacement panel is my project for our challenge...here it is:

The images are from The Paper Shelter. I've grouped them together in my editing program, coloured with Copics then used dimensional glaze and glitter pens to highlight. The panel has then been matted onto SU Choc Chip and Old Olive to match the original panel colours.

The new look folder:

I've had to 'cheat' here and overlay one photo over the other as I don't have the folder...not perfect but it gives you the general idea :)

This is what the folder looked like when I made it:

Ummmm...I think the new panel might be a bit of an improvement lol

The folder laying out flat:

The flaps on either end overlap and have magnetic strips to hold them together...then the folder stands up like a desk calendar.

I made index pages from CS and laminated them. This is the inside...tabs for Starters, Mains, Desserts & Sweet Treats. The blank pages for the recipes are inside 8 x 8 page protectors so they can be wiped down if needed :)

Owl Pocket Card

Hello everyone...I'm running late again :(  Seems to be the norm lately! It's time for a new challenge at our Copic/Promarker group at The Outlawz. Our theme this week is Celebration...a really easy one for this time of the year :)  Hope you'll come and play along with us...and don't forget we have a FABULOUS Pollycraft prize up for grabs when our December challenges finish.

Here's what I came up with for this theme:

I went with a birthday celebration theme. I think this may end up being sent to one of my nieces for her birthday in January. If I don't get organised before Christmas, her present ends up being late.

I've made a pocket fold card with a flat tag card insert for the greeting and a bookmark to slip in with it. The cute little owl (YES, another owl lol) is from Pink Cat Studio. I think they are my favourite owls out of all the ones I have :)  AND....ta dah...I've made a FLOWER!!!!  Are you proud of me or what Helen LOL My lovely friend Helen has been making these for a while now and I fell in love with them. Not bad for someone who was never fond of paper flowers! I've been going to have a go at one of these for ages...they are SOOOOO easy to make. I think I feel another addiction coming on :) If you'd like to see a FABULOUS tutorial, head on over to Helens' blog and you'll find a few different flowers to make with this method. My flower parts were cut with my trusty KNK Maxx as I don't have the necessary punches. The wording on the bookmark was created with the Word Art feature in My Memories Suite...which I'm absolutely LOVING!

Here's a close up of the Bookmark:

And one of the Pocket with the lovely flower:

Snowflake Fairy

Happy Friday everyone :)  Can't believe it's getting soooo close to Christmas! Only 2 more weeks to go...where has the year gone!?  Anyhow, on to why I'm here lol  Our Copic/Promarker challenge this week over at The Outlawz is....Non Traditional Christmas Colours. As much as I LOVE the red & green Christmas theme, it's nice to see something a bit different for a change, so come on over and check out my teamies amazing creations and play along with us this week :)

WE HAVE AN AMAZING PRIZE FOR DECEMBER ENTRIES....A MEGA BUNDLE OF 50...YES 50!!!... POLLYCRAFT DIGIS, SO COME ON OVER AND PLAY ALONG WITH US FOR YOUR CHANCE TO WIN THIS AWESOME PRIZE!

Here's what I came up with for my non-traditional colours:

And a front view:

I've used the gorgeous Lilybean Snowflake Kisses Fairy from Pollycraft.....isn't she beautiful! I LOVE the Lilybean series and have most of them in my collection. I've used them a lot as they are so versatile and can be used for almost any occasion. I only recently added this one to my collection (sssssh....don't tell hubby lol) as I thought she'd be perfect for this challenge theme :) I've removed her little dangly bits from the sleeves and her hat...as much as I love to fussy cut, they were waaaaay too fiddly for me!!

LOOK at all those embellies!!!!  I've outdone myself this time lol  I'm not good with adding stuff to my projects, so for me this is going a bit overboard! The little snowflake buttons have been in my stash for a couple of years, waiting for a suitable project. I don't really know why I got them as we don't have snow here, so a bit hard to put them to use! They've all been either glittered or sprayed with shimmer mist to give them lots of sparkle....shame it doesn't show in the photos :(  And Miss Lilybean has been blinged to within an inch of her life :)  Wings & 'fur' trim have been stickled and the points on her top & hat, plus the tips of her wings, have little rhinestones added.

Now to find someone to send this to who lives somewhere snowy :)

I'm entering this in the Pollycraft Christmas Fun challenge.

Owl Christmas House

Eeeeeeek....it's December already! That dreaded "C" word is nearly upon us!!! I can only hope I'm organised by the time it gets here!

Anyhow, enough waffling and onto the reason for my post....our new challenge at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group is HOME. Can't wait to see how you interpret this one.  I've gone a bit outside the box with mine....an owl Christmas house :) Anyone who's been here before will probably know about my love of all things owlish lol  Here's my card:

Unfortunately this is a night photo so it's not the best...sorry! I'll try and replace it in a couple of days when I get a chance to take a daylight one. I'm going to be away for a few days so will see how I go when I get back.

The very cute image is from Pink Cat Studio and the background is all digi from various sources, layered in my new software program....My Memories Suite 3....which I'm LOVING...thanks Dana :)...then printed out onto photo paper. Thought I'd try this for a change instead of using the CS I normally print my papers onto. Looks great IRL...beautiful, deep, rich colour but a PITA to photograph...especially at night under artificial light!! And I think I should have tried matte as the semi gloss is a little bit shiny, otherwise I'm really happy with the result.

Bugaboo Housework Stella

Happy Friday everyone :)  Our challenge this week at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group is our regular monthly Anything Goes....a nice easy one for you to play along with....hope to see you there.

This week I have a hanger for you.....haven't had one for a while :)

This is one of the hilarious Stella images from Bugaboo....they are all sooooo funny, it's hard to choose which ones to have. I haven't used the sentiment that comes with her this time, I've done my own....printed onto the DP before adhering to the wood hanger (made by hubby, of course). Stella has been fussy cut and popped up on dots.

Teddybella - So Happy

Hello everyone....well, it's time for another challenge over at our Copic/Promarker group at The Outlawz. Hope you'll come on over and play along with us this week...and check out my lovely, talented teamies amazing creations.

I had a week off last week so I missed the Goth challenge but have managed to get in some serious crafting during the week and get a bit ahead....YAY. This week's theme is Shopping. Initially I was going to do a Christmas themed card with lots of pressies but then I found my poor, neglected Teddybella stamp and thought I'd ink her up instead :)

Here's what I came up with:

I've made this 5 x 7 for a change. I felt the larger image panel needed a bit more room to move lol The embossed mat is a free Penny Duncan Shaplie cut file....I thought this shape went perfectly with Teddybella's round belly :)  And I seem to be on a bit of a pink & brown binge lately, it's such a lovely colour combo. The DP is gorgeous and comes from the 6" Love Letters pad by First Edition. Half the papers are DS and half have glitter effects. The little spotty panel is all glittery and looks very pretty IRL.

Here's Teddybella CU:

Star Chester

YAY...I've actually managed to play in the Pollycraft challenge this week!! It feels like forever since I played along :(  This week the challenge theme is a fabulous sketch by Cazza.

Here's my card using one of the cute Chesters from the Christmas set:

Isn't he the cutest :)  I've used 3 Sprinkles in the opposite corners instead of the strips in the sketch. I felt very rusty making this and it took me half a day....for one little card...and nothing would go right to begin with....grrrrrr......hopefully things will improve as I'm hoping to have a bit of a crafting frenzy over the next week. I'm having a week off from my DT duties at The Outlawz and want to make the most of my 'free' time :)

Thanks

"I'm late, I'm late, I'm very, very late!!" Now, where have I heard that before....hmmm...oh I know, just me repeating myself lol

As they say, better late than never! This is my DT card for our Copic/Promarker challenge at The Outlawz this week. Our challenge theme this week is Thanks....hope you'll come and play along with us.

Here's my card:

While staying with my lovely friend Helen earlier in the year, I stamped some Penny Black images. I love the hedgies and have a couple of the clear sets but none of the wood mounted stamps. These stamps belong to a lovely lady that Helen knows.....*waving* to you Marg. A big thank you for letting me use your gorgeous stamps :) This little guy is such a cutie!

Sorry....no Copic colours for this one...although I can tell you the colour families I used: R80s for the pinks, E11-17 for the terracotta pot, YG60s for the grass....hope that helps!

Too Cute to Spook

Hello everyone...our new challenge this week at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group is Halloween...so we're hoping to see lots of cute, spooky creations from you :)

Not many Aussies celebrate Halloween so I have no idea what I'm going to do with this card but I had fun making it:

This is a very different fold card which I saw on Deneen's blog: A Path of Paper. She has instructions for how to make this type of card....called a Bendy Fold....HERE. I altered the dimensions of mine to make it my fave size.... 5 1/2" square....and to accommodate the fence :) It's a really easy card to make, unless you try to be really clever like me and make a fence that matches up!!!!!!! That bit was a little tricky lol It would be lots of fun to decorate and would suit any occasion. I'm definitely going to use this style again.

Here's the left front flap open....the wording says "Too Cute to Spook":

And with both flaps open:

The cute little witch is from Stitchy Bear Stamps and all papers are digi from Summer Driggs. The howling wolf and moon, with the starry sky, are one image, to which I've added the bat and sentiment panel from the elements in the kit. The fence and cat are also elements in the kit. I've layered the cat onto the fence, tweaked the fence panels to the right size (that was fun!!) then printed and fussy cut. To finish the back of the card I used a Halloween DP, cut slightly smaller than the card size.

Although I'm not a huge Halloween fan, I love how this turned out :)  Not often I'm really happy with the end result of my creative labours but this is one of those rare ones that I just love...why, I have no idea!

It's hard to see in the photo....her underskirt, hat band and dress bodice have been painted with shimmer mist and the stars twinkle thanks to a bit of Diamond Stickles :)  Looks very pretty IRL!

Asian Tea

Happy Friday....it's challenge time again at The Outlawz Copic/Promarker group. Our theme this week is Asian Inspiration.....I'm looking forward to seeing how everyone interprets this one :)

I made a card:

I've used a cute little geisha girl serving tea from Whimsie Doodles. The gorgeous DP is a digi freebie from Numb Bumm. I've had this for quite a while and been wanting to use it, it's a beautiful set.

The background mat, background scene, bamboo screen and image have been layered in my photo editing program and printed onto X-Press It blending card for colouring the image. The words on the fan were created digitally before printing, and the fan was then fussy cut and popped up on dots.

I chose this theme.....don't know why on earth I did (other than I wanted to use the digi papers!) as I hate colouring black hair :(

Hope you'll come and play along with us this week.....we'd love to see what you come up with!
